I carry the found poem ‘for Isadora,’ from a collection of poems or love letters written by Canadian musician, Hawksley Workman. Penned early in his career, this collection of letters from Hawksley to his muse, Isadora, is naked, candid and passionate. I’ve carried this book everywhere with me, from highschool to university, living overseas and back home again. From my first reading, I was hooked. The imagery, the burning, the desire – it was exactly how I wanted love to be. Getting lost in moments, making the journey last. A marriage of light and darkness. Partnership and worship. I think all women want to be Isadora. Traveling forever in our lover’s kiss. This is my poem and I carry it in my dreams.
