Stuart’s Story: ‘I carry’ Tuesday, 9 February 2010

I carry not one but a number of verses
Floating serenely, contained in my heart
My head conjures words of imagined importance
The poetry falls into place part by part.

Often I write about daily occurrences
Changing my mood or reflecting my soul
Talk of the weather or love or depression
All of these little bits making the whole.

Unnumbered my thoughts flow in varying colours
Drifting from sound, sight and sense
For words in my head express feeling and thought
Only they see when I am too tense.

So I carry my poetry round with me always
And let it run free when I can
But most of all letting my words show my feelings
As closed as a fortress, often I am.

Hi from Melbourne, another great city of literature!

What a wonderful idea this is, I’m enjoying all the poems from “The Lost Book’s updates on Facebook.
