We’ve lost a poem. The pieces are scattered throughout Edinburgh. We need your help to find them and put the poem back together.
“Hunt The Poem” is an exciting treasure hunt running throughout February 2010, as part of the Carry a Poem campaign. A certain poem, a priceless family secret passed down the generations, has been broken into twelve lines which lie hidden around the city. You’ll have to search high and low to find them.
Can you find the clues and carry the poem to a safe resting place at the Poetry Library? There are prizes for the first to find each line.
The hunt will begin in February 2010 at www.huntthepoem.com.
William Butler Yeats is by far my most favourite poet and we discovered quite recently upon my father’s deathbed he, the great poet himself was directly related to us via my paternal grandmamma. Apparently she was one of several 1st cousins’ and an influential poet to boot, alongside my father; who firmly kept up the family tradition and also myself followed suit beginning at the tender age of 3 years. I also had a poetry book published at 17 years and many mag entries. My grandmamma married youngish, in penury but outwith the family conscripts and environment and changed her religion which made her rather unpopular to boot
